Description |
Street Scene, the "Old Barrel House" and neighboring stores at the northeast corner of Dexter and Douglas Ave. Several men face the camera, standing near a wood panel station wagon parked in front of the Wonder Inn. Others pass on the sidewalk and stand in a nearby parking lot. A man sits in the passenger seat of a car behind the station wagon. The block houses a parking lot and a series of adjacent two story brick buildings with first floor commercial occupants. The second story features a series of curtained standard and bay windows. Signs advertise Meister Brau, Hamm's Beer, Coca Cola, the Homestead Restaurant, Drewry's Beer ("Fuggle Hops put Drewrys a hop ahead"), the Wonder Inn, the Old Barrel House, Royal Crown Cola, Whiskey, Dr. Pepper, 7Up, Schlitz, and Beverly Outdoor.
